Have to smile about this. When I learned to dive at 16, they only way I got to do it was paying for it myself. My folks weren't thrilled either. Not sure if you can get rescue before advance. Rescue requires more dive. Do a lot of diving with other experienced divers. The only reason I got my advanced was for overseas trips. Around the channel islands, and most of the near shore diving, you can enjoy most of what's available. Take other classes like the 3R's, and show your folks you can be a responsile, and safe diver. You have lots of years ahead of you to go deep.
