The sad thing is that the same thing is happening out here... The lessons from fatalities get discounted and the same guys trot out the same defenses and refuse to learn, change or recognize that things change and there are safer and more efficient ways to do things..
One of the strongest lessons I took from the Last Dive was that when Bernie almost killed himself, the Rouses refused to listen.. Then when Chris was in the chamber and said * we were crazy to have done that dive on air*, one of there own was saying, in his last and dying words, that it was nuts, but yet you go on an east coast boat tomorrow and the same thing goes on.. No one heard the message, even when it came from one of their own..
Guys like Chris and Seahunt fall directly into that catagory, they refuse to listen or learn and believe that it can't happen to them...
