I am not even part of this discussion BUT, I'd like to see this "Sport Diving Philosophy" myself. In my head there is always room for BETTER ideas. I do hope that more practical does not mean "since it's California you don't need to be prepared because there are plenty of people around to rescue you and great hospitals and facilities to use." Doggone it...now I've gone and jumped in.
