At the price of being redundant, let me say that DIR proponents have to accept that they can post dissertations on their methodology of diving until the Pacific freezes over and not every diver is going to adopt your protocols.
I realize that DIR prosletyzing is primarily driven by a desire to see others dive as safely as possible. Your passion is obvious and I don't question your underlying motives. It's your tactics and attitude that undermine your intentions.
Freedom of speech -- a sacred principle in this country and especially on the Internet -- allows others to post their ideas and comment on your statements.
Railing against individuals who disagree with you and attacking them personally for speaking their mind makes you sound like narrow-minded blowhards, or at best, well-intentioned, narrow-minded blowhards (I'm not saying you are, you just sound like it).
Please let's rise above this and move on!
