The kelp was thicker in the 70's and 80's. I often got in
paddys that were over 2 feet thick. You do learn a good kelp
swim.
The variety was similar, but there were more vertebrates
and far more invertebrates, though I never saw black
seabass until the 80's at Nic.
From what I have ever been able to find out, Palos Verdes
may well have been the best diving California ever had.
I'll look for that book.
