I'm not looking at the credability of DIR.
I have picked on you, not to discredit DIR and not really to
discredit your knowledge of DIR. It's not about discrediting you as
a capable diver. It's about discrediting you as a descent human
being. It has been to try to get you show some courtesy on the board
by telling you that courtesy is necessary for you to try to achieve
credability as a human, not as a diver.
Why couldn't you have just come to this board with some courtesy and
respect like everybody else?
It seems like you wanted to emulate the nastiness that George Irvine
is known for.
You want that we all join the community of DIR.
We want you to join a far older community. A community based on
principles of honesty, courtesy and respect. Before you came along,
that's just how the baord operated.
We consider that making a choice between those two communities, as
you seem to demand, is unacceptable. The ideas of DIR seem benign
compared to the personal nastiness that gotten associated with it and
that you seem to personify.
Get rid of that association and your message will be acceptable to
far more people. Keep the nastiness and you will keep getting flak.
Talk diving and people listen to you. Be courteous and people will
look forward to what you say.
DIR has some really good stuff. Why add something negative to it?

PS. I agree. There are much better things for both of us to do than
pestering each other, but do you notice, it's a bit like pototoe chips?
It gets addictive because it's stimulating... You read this... Don't
you worry, I'll get a dive manual for you. It's only appropriate that
I write one.
