Scientific rumor says that urinating in your wetsuit accelerates aging of the neoprene, damages elastic recovery, and induces a loss of buoyancy by reducing overall volume of the bubbles trapped within the neoprene matrix. Hence your loss of buoyancy without an equipment configuration change.
In order to avoid this accelerated aging of the wetsuit, divers are advised to stop urinating in their wetsuits. Granted, it does warm you up, but it also reduces your social status above water with those of us that still have functioning olfactory glands.
This has been a "Dr. Science" reply to a commonly acknowledged problem with buoyancy.
