Tim,

160' on Nitrox has really got to be a PADI or TDI joke of some sort.. Basically to do that dive you would want a 27% ( using a P02 of 1.6) we keep our at 1.4, but that aside why in the world would someone plan a dive in this hap hazard fashion..

In terms of the liabiity issues, the standard insurance policies cover mixes up to 40% so it is likely that this ridiculously stupid dive plan would be covered. If the mix exceeds 40% than you need to get a tech supervisor rating or above.. However, I would note that the standard policies only cover *PLANNED* dives to 130' so given that this is a *PLANNED* dive to 160' it's likely the standard policy would exclude this dive.. I don't like to hang on wording, but given that if there is a problem, insurance companies and lawyers LOVE to hang onto language and the exclusions in the policies are VERY clear...

This is another example of doing this wrong.. This kind of dive should be done on a hyperoxic or normoxic trimix...
