I agree that the depth and time info is basically irrelevant to AGE (other than tiredness and having more depth over which to build up ascent speed). There was a mention of a lung infection though. Perhaps this somehow provided a route for a bubble to enter aerterial circulation.

The post also stated that there "were no alarms or warnings" from the computer. I assume that this included ascent alarms. What we don't know is the threshold for ascent alarms on the computer used. My (older) computer does not generate an ascent alarm until 60 fpm is exceeded. DAN is now recommending ascent rates of 30 fpm.

I'll leave it open here for further wild speculation until more facts are available. ;)
