Why I put boots on my aluminum tanks

They roll less than unbooted ones. The are easier on the deck of my boat since the paint stays on the tank rather than the fiberglass. They make a more muted BONG when I set them on the concrete floor. They are easier to manhandle from the dock to the boat because the hand on the butt of the wet tank does not slip. These are the only reasons that coem to mind.

That is why I do it. They do not cost much and provide value to my "style" of local diving.
