This coming from a guy that owns, and has used both..

The Extreme Exposure ( not Halcyon) HID lights are durable, but much more importantly the design of the cannister allows you to hip-mount it and it therefore becomes part of your overall weighting package.

The battery on the Night Rider is bulky and clumsy.. They recomend mounting it to your tanks and then you have wires running from your back, either under your arm or over your shoulder which creates and uneceesary entanglement hazzard, but could also very easily get nicked and then you would need to replace the system...

I only used my a few times before I bought the EE light and I might be willing to part company with it ;-)

Hope that helps
