I used to dive the Liberty regularly, when I lived in Santa Barabara. The last time I saw Captain Al (two months ago) he seemed a little run down and burnt out. Said hello to him, and he barely responded.
Seems to me that the 14 hour days and raising a five year ould could tend to wear anyone down, especially with the seemingly endless northwesterlies we have been experiencing.
I wish the best for Al and hope that he doesn't get burnt out and move into a different profession. He is a good skipper and has taken me to many fine dive spots over the years.
