My wife and I had the chance to spend four days in Carmel last week and made a few dives.Dive #1 was a boat-beach dive aboard the cypress point. I say boat-beach because we loaded our gear in Monterey and drove down to point lobos (15 min.) where we parked and suited up in our suits and snorkeled out to the boat in whalers cove. Saved us an hours boat ride. Dove blue fish pinnacles and then the cove. Great viz! Like 60 ft. Water was only 47f. Next day we did a beach dive at Whalers and saw a wolf eel and cabazon(?).
The next day was another boat that took us way down the coast almost to big sur. A place called sobrantes point. Just south of Lobos Rocks. And the a spot called honeymoon cove. Water was the bluest I have ever seen at Monterey. Great vis.
All in all a great couple of days and the gang on the cypress point were great as always. I had never seen a nudibranch but I more than made up for it this trip!!!
