Not recent encounter, but still a big shark

Some years ago, I was diving the east end rock quarry at Catalina, just at the edge of the rocks and the sand, when I saw a huge shape come out of the haze. It materialized into a large Great White Shark, easily 15 foot. I descended to the rocks and froze. It swam by not 10 feet away. It had the gray back and white belly with large fins and tail. No doubt about it -- it was a GWS. It looked at me, but just went cruising along the reef. As I swam toward the surface I saw it pass by about 25 feet away as it swam off. I was glad to get back to the boat.
