If that instructor surfaced with 200 psi like some of the responses say, He has a real credibility problem... How can you teach gas management and allow that to happen. Remember ANYONE can call ANY dive for ANY reason. IF anything the instructor should be carrying extra gas in the event of an emergency, most students would instinctively head for the instructor rather than their buddy..
