but I think this is done for the practical reasons of being able to watch students and keep the class together.
I'm confident that is why it's done... The answer is to lower the student to instructor ratio so you can keep on eye on your student while teaching then how to dive correctly..
The standard dive industry justification is convience when the focus should be on education..
