even though the OW1 student is sitting/kneeling in place, one on one with an OWSI, the mask removal is still a very difficult chore for them underwater. I have seen more OW1s rocket to the surface with their OWSIs in tow, aspirating steam and spray, coughing, from that exercise.

would i like to see more OWSIs ripping masks off their OW1s by surprise?

nope.

this is recreational diving, not BUDS.
