I've gotten swamped with private e-mails asking for added details so it's easier for me to simply post here and if there are additional questions please feel free to e-mail me privately..
My sense is that we will arrive at the point very early both days, I would assume about 8:00am to allow for prime location to set up the tent and such.. I'm in the process of looking into whether or not we will need permits to the extent that we want to expand the demo to include a barbaque. For those that attended the Monterey demo, we're hoping to run this one in the same fashion..
Accordingly, both mornings we'll have available gear and escorts beginning at 8:00am and continuing on until 5:00, or so on Saturday and about 3:00 or so on Sunday. We're on the 5:30 boat so we'll have to allow time for breaking down and getting to the Express.
Each morning at 11:00am I'll do a DIR demo presentation similiar to the one's we give at the shops and the clubs.. This will generally last about an hour or so and we'll be available for questions as long as you want to ask them..
As of the moment I've gotten responses from Terry, Pat Farina and Jeff Highley who will be able to attend and remain available for escorting.. I haven't heard back from Kendall, Walker or Colburn yet, but I know these guys well and if there is any way they can make it they will.
So just to emphasize, there is NO charge for any of this and EVERYONE is invited to attend the demo.. The only exception being that we will only get into the water with certified diver's.. This is NOT a discover scuba, or experience scuba or whatever else such nonsense PADI can dream up... The design of this demo is to provide assistance in getting gear configurations in order, to help improve trim and bouyancy, and to help de-mystify the whole DIR concept to those that are still unclear about any aspect of it.. We will only deal with the recreational aspects of DIR during this demo and we will stay clear of technical, cave or wreck diving discussions unless someone has a specific question.. But our hope is to remain focused on the average recreational diver..
Let me know if you have any questions...
