Just so everyone is clear about this GUE is the first, and at this time, the only agency that does in fact have C-cards that expire.. You need to do 25 dives and provide proof or your card is no longer valid...
The instructor requirements are even more stringent, in that in addition to a required number of dives in your chosen speciality ( ie; cave ) you are required to do dives outside your area of expertise ( ie; technical)...
My hope is that now that GUE has set the standard that the pressure will mount as it becomes clearer the differences between excellence and mediocrity...
