So of what value is a PADI/NAUI/SSI/SDI/TDI, etc. card renewal and/or recertification? More bucks for them, no increase in diver's proficiency or safety, and probably a greater drop out rate of occasional divers who couldn't care less. Bottom line: you can't teach experience and experience is the most effective teacher.
