for me and my style."

That's a fair enough statement Steve. Glad to see
you are happy. But, further on down this thread
your posts don't reflect this, but I for one am
willing to accept your earlier thread posts for
their face value. But enough about that;

No one expects anyone in the sport to dive like
George and his team, unless you wish to be on his
team. You obviously have no desire to dive with
the WKPP and therefore have no mandate to meet their
requirements. I too have no desire to dive with the
WKPP, although I was in the water with George and
Carl Heinzl at Ginnie way back in 1996 before DIR
was labeled as such.

Don't compare what George promotes to what JJ
promotes. George accepts DIR as the basis for their
activities with added value points specific to their
extreme conditions an situations. JJ, who although is
a member of the WKPP and one of George's primary
exploration team members, is more vocal and promotive
of the application to the mainstream rec and tech
diving communities. The both embrace and promote DIR,
but to different audiences or subset communities. That's
one of the reasons why GUE was created, the see
DIR trained divers get the extended correct training
they thurst for. But enough of this beaten to death horse.

George and his team have so finely tuned their
profiles and gear for their deep OE diving that it
would be foolish for anyone who sport dives to match
them. It would be dangerous for even most experienced
tech divers to attempt the same. There are some on
the Internet who have tried doing what the WKPP has
done successfully for years, only to get their team
members injured or worse. That's why I brought up
the WAK2 reference in my previous post.

Since you pointed it out though, please tell us
what type of gear "isn't the best for me and my
style" and how you configure and plan for
contigencies - and use the DIR configuration
and phylosophy as the comparison mean. What type of
dives are you doing and what makes your configuration
the better than rec or tech DIR phylosophies and
configurations? Try to leave costs out of the
equation if all the different types of gear were
the same price. I realize I am not taking Richard's
advice, but this is a good discussion to have if
you would indulge us.

Thanks in advance -
