I draw the line at the long hose. In 38 years of active diving, world-wide, I've yet to be involved in an OOA situation. I could get struck by lightening but I don't walk around outside wearing a lightening rod either. If you tend to dive with air hog buddies I suppose a long hose would be necessary for you. But I don't buddy dive so that's never an issue with me.
