I, too, was on the CONCEPTION trip and thankfully avoided being pummeled on the anchor rode 'cause I saw in advance a troubling group of divers, over-equipped and under-trained and/or under-experienced. The simple use of a compass would have allowed them to ascend near the current line, or basic wreck orientation would have returned them to the anchor rode for ascent in the current. I guess that's part of the price we pay when we go on open boat trips.
