Thirds rule does equally well apply in any UNDERWATER experience.I suppose you could "fudge" it a bit in nice clear unobstructed OW but quite literally "It won't KILL ya!" to stick as close as possible to it.
The compass is on the other wrist and the GUAGE (one) SPG is looked down at maybe not quite as often as the compass and depth.
"A competent diver" welll that may be just a small% of those out there some others may need the extra safety of considering Kelp an OE (wouldn't hurt!) my $.34
