It's all UnderWater! if it's safer to do one thing than another then DO IT RIGHT! I have enjoyed many dives by surfacing BEFORE the tank implodes from negative pressure. I have much experience doing it NOT right and found that K.I.S.S. applies to SCUBA as well. Halcyon gear in a DIR config. added so much time to my dive that I could dive single with only a small loss of time over my doubles! With my doubles ...
