Who holds an anchor line? If you never leave the boat, I guess that's OK, but if you can find the boat, then conditions are good enough to make an un-tethered ascent anyway. Hey, un-tethered ascents take a little skill, but they are easy to learn with a little practice, then who needs an anchor line?
>spear gun,
Haven't carried one in many years and when carrying one, I have a wrist strap... that I can attach to one of my clips for ascent. Pole spear rubber goes in crook of elbow. It always worked fine, even in the Central Coast where conditions are tough.
>lobster bag,
Always on clip. I like the clips I use better than D rings. Better feel.
>Darrel Allen light,
I don't carry a Jack O' Lantern. I only carry small lights in the day and at night, my big light has a strap to, you guessed it, my brass clips.
>DPV,
Don't own one as far as I know.
>or manage a slate and pencil ?
What's that for? Also, ascent time is not really time to jabber. Since it is a critical time, it's time to focus
Enjoy, seahunt
