when hunting, i sprint out on the first third, turn around and get back to the shallows/area where the boat anchored on the second third, and then i may loaf around in the shallows a bit, perhaps sucking the tank down to 400-450 psi as i surface /w/ safety stops etc. If i'm just loafing around beneath the boat with a camera, then i may wait 'till i'm down to 750 or so psi before thinking about surfacing, but again, when i do this, i can either hear the boat, or i know pretty much where i am in regards to the anchor line/currents/surface cond. etc.
