In the interest of inclusion I've been having private dialogue with the PADI RecTec team. Ostensibly we have been dealing with the deep air issue and we are in discussions to attempt to bridge the divide that currently exists, we pretty far apart but atleast we are talking...
To that end I offered them to join us at the demo because one of their complaints seem to have been that their positions were misrepresented. Long story short it seems to me that either you are teaching diving on air to 165' or you are not, but I felt that if they thought that we didn't understand their position I invited them to participate on some of the various scuba forums, the bbs included, and offered to allow them representation at the demo..
They are considering the offer at this time and we'll keep everyone posted.. Please feel free to e-mail PADI to encourage their participation if you believe it will provide a more well balanced view...
FTR, if anyone knows anyone at NAUI or IANTD they are invited as well and please feel free to pass that along or forward me the approriate information and I'll begin the dialogue..
This is about bringing safer and more efficient ways to dive as it applies to OUR local community so if they want to participate they are invited...
