I'm not trying to be combatitive, I'm truly curious where you draw the line. It's pretty easy to say after the accident that you wouldn't have done the dive without support, or that the support was inadequate. It seems harder to pin people down before the dive.

Constant PO2, GF'd 30/75 Buhlman gives me about 33 minutes of deco if you assume a constant 15 minute ascent/descent. If the ascent were less gradual at the start, you can get up to 96 minutes of deco with the same settings. I don't think I missed the point. Why assume (absent any inside knowledge) that this part was done wrong other than to take gratuitous potshots at somebody who is already dead?
