There's a new list in town (or state), and it's the DIR-Ca mailing list over at www.yahoogroups.com. It is a moderated list created by some of the California DIR divers to discuss a
plethora of issues relating to diving.
What this list is for: the polite (not to be mistaken for boring), and respectful (not to be mistaken for lack of opinions) exchange of diving information, events, and perhaps even social
interaction. This list is a place where you can use your real name (for those of you who don't), talk with real divers about real issues, and give and receive real advice about real diving.
What this list is not: a flamers paradise. While this list isn't only for DIR folks, it definitely isn't a place to come and flame DIR, either. This list isn't a "tech" list. While there will no doubt
be discussions of a technical nature, please don't feel excluded if you consider yourself a "rec" diver. There will be lots of relevance for you. And it probably won't be a love-fest either,
but there will be *no* personal attacking tolerated. If you want to disagree with someone about their principles and/or opinions, please feel free. But don't talk about their lineage,
anatomy, or imply abuse of domesticated animals.
If you are interested, head over to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DIR-CA/
or send an email to DIR-CA-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
We hope that you will join us. Please don't feel excluded if you don't consider yourself DIR, or aren't sure you want to be. The only requirements for participating are an open mind and
respect for your fellow divers.
See you there
