The Halcyon 300 BAR manifold seems pretty good, as it has the dual o-ring on each side of the iso, and is equipped with the Sherwood rubber knobs. I recently purchased one, and have several older Thermo manifolds built similar, but they are 235 BAR. I also have a set of OMS 98's, but although I have never had a problem, everyone I speak with says they are junk?

Regarding HID, I have both EE and a prototype custom Dive Rite Classic canister with 18 watt HID heads. No problems except when I flooded a canister last trip to the Yucatan and fried the ballast. Maybe 100 dives or so, and other than user error, they still rock. My cave diving buddies usually just shut their 50 watt halogens off when my wife and I are using HIDs.

Just for kicks, I have a EE dual 50 watt HID set up which I used to produce a cave diving video. It was like someone turned on a light switch underwater, absolutely unbelievable!

HTH's!
Regards,
Daryl
