I buddied with a guy who carpooled from the meeting place with me. We went as a big bunch and all played together. Our buddy duties were to one person, but we were mixed in a large group. It looked like most of the folks there on the day I went were single (buddyless?)divers. The buddy divisions happened on the beach.
And they have a nifty way of doing a beach/surf entry that felt really odd to me but moved us through the surf line really fast! It felt wierd cause I never did it that way before. But I gotta say it works really well and I am adding it to my set of beach entry tools.
