There are many valuable elements to the DIR philosphy and gear configurations that are directly applicable to Southern California recreational sport diving, however those elements are being lost to divers turned off by DIR spokespersons such GI3 and his strident diatribes against anyone not agreeing totally with his "my way or the highway" vulgarity.
