i have visited a few other scuba web sites over the past few months, and i have found that, in comparison, there is quite a varity of interesting characters here on this site, compared to the other sites, which i have found [the others] to contain a few nice, informed people who are vastly outnumbered by the assholes and idiots there.
flaming seems to be a disease that afflicts some people more than others, and which seems to infest some sites more than others.
learning together, from each others dive experiences, and from other divers tragedies, seems to be happening more on this site than on other sites that I have visited. not that there are any more trajedies here as compared to elsewhere, nor that the divers here are any smarter than anywhere else, its just that there is a different attitude here about issues.
please understand that i am impartial, in that i dont get to visit SoCal very often. too far away. long drive down the freeway, for hours and hours.
