One of the tech stores up here is featuring him as a DIR speaker. Right now, as we speak/type, he is travelling northbound on the freeway to get to Monterey before nightfall.
I am looking forward to meeting this fellow diver, and having him in our neck of the woods for awhile. In appropriate fashion, I have frozen an abalone for him in an ice chest, as a gift, the best that NorCal can offer to a SoCal diver.
I believe that he takes his DIR protocols so seriously and emotionally because he has recovered dead divers and he has manned the deco chambre down in your neck of the woods. He knows what the worst thing is that can happen on a dive.
I am not a DIR nor GUE diver, but I appreciate the ideas that DIR and GUE have formulated into protocols, which Mike Kane regularly debates here on SeaHunt's web site.
