It may be that ppl get used to being narced, just like ppl who drink a lot get used to functioning (build a tolerance), with a high level of alcohol in their system. Not everyone has this ability, which is why most ppl aren't alcoholic. This is something I've thought about for the last couple of months. One of my dive buddies is a total tea drinker, and complains about feeling "narced" at fairly shallow depts (60fsw), while I've dove to between 90 and 120 several times, and have never felt anything; and I used to drink enough to put a fish to shame, but have been sober for over 11 years. Being narced may just be a natural state for me. I know 90-120fsw isn't real deep compaired to this study, this is just an observation.
