Spent Friday-Saturday on the Peace for a halibut hunt to Santa Barbara and Cruz. Half the boat was the Sea Sons dive club www.seasonsdive.com (Old farts) the other half was an open boat. There were 2 buddy teams, the balance of the 26 divers were solo, about 10 divers were without a BC, none were DIR or even close, vintage California diving..
Conditions were very good, dives ranged from 20-70 foot, visibility averaged 40 foot+, with temps in the mid 60’s. These were experienced divers, no one needed to be rescued, all equipment (both modern and ancient) worked fine and a great time was had by all.
A number of halibut were taken and no one mistook the BSB for anything other than what they are.
