There are fisherman out at Anacapa who are catching and filleting these fish on the spot to avoid being caught by authorities. Any divers out at the islands who find remains of this fish should immediately scan the horizon for nearby fishing boats and radio Fish & Game. Another disturbing fact is that the Cattle Fishing boats at Anacapa have discovered the special spot where these fish come to in the summer and they sit there all day trying to catch them knowing that they're protected. Although they're required to return the fish to the ocean, this targeting of Black Sea Bass shold be stopped.
