Perhaps you missed the point made by the person who suggested a refreasher class.. so let me emphasis it..
YOU SHOULD NOT GET INTO THE WATER AFTER A 7 YEAR ABSCENCE WITH A HANDFUL OF LOGGED DIVES WITHOUT A REFRESHER CLASS...........

I don't sugar coat things, that just isn't my style, and quite frankly you aren't qualified to handle the SoCal waters given your limited experience, your reluctance to acknowledge that you need a refresher and the your extended hiatus from the sport..
I've been advocating that C-cards should expire and NOT last a lifetime and you are one of the prime reasons why I feel so strongly about the issue.. We average one fatality a month here in SoCal and we don't want that average increased so please heed the advice...
