Orange Roughy (slow growing deep-water rockfish from New Zealand) appeared on the market back in the mid 80s and disappeared as fast as it appeared. That fishery collapsed in record time. Hmmm. Lets see here, we have people who fish themselves right out of their own livelihood time after time after time, and their lackeys who simply sit by and hurl screeching emotional polemic about "idiot treehuggers on the board...yakity yakity yak". Does the term "Farm Animal Stupid" mean anything to anyone? I mean seriously, we know the consequences of over fishing, 80% of the posters on this board have personally, first hand seen the drop in number and size of things like calico bass, sheepshead, sculpin, cabezon, rockfish etc at places like Shaw's Cove, Old Marineland, Catalina, Anacapa, (hell, even San Clemente) and yet we have a FAS minority screeching that we are going to get all the diving outlawed on the basis of a few small scale closures. Hmmm. No wonder GI3 gets that way sometimes!
