The G-shock is good. Though not stylish, they are the toughest watches around. And some of them have cool features like, dive time and interval logging, thermometors, digital compass(handy in CA), personal info, etc.. They are available from about eighty bucks.
BUT
Why dont you just get a dive computer. You will enjoy diving a lot more if you have a dive computer. Even a simple one will do everything you really need to have done. You can probably get a reliable one from about $150, but I dont know.
