I was in Monterey this past Friday thru Wednesday
for a GUE Tech 1 course held at Monterey Bay
Dive Center.
I booked about a week before and ended up staying
in Watsonville at a Best Western for Friday and
Saturday night at $129/night. Motorcycle race at
Laguna Seca and everything in Monterey was booked.
The rest of my stay was at Cypress Tree at
89/night. A couple of the San Jose based classmates suggested Lone Pine which is next door to Cypress Tree as they have a wash down area for dive gear. A Motel 6 is nearby as well.
In the past I have washed down my gear in the
shower if needed but I could not bring myself
to rinsing off that Monastery Beach sand down
the drains.
