Just got the following e-mail from SDI. Please feel free to tell them how much SASY sucks:

SURVEY OF SDI MEMBERS ON SASY

SDI Headquarters currently endorses and officially sanctions the SASY Program
that allows kids to use a special scuba system for use only on the surface. This
requires a special SASY BC system that provides permanent positive buoyancy so
that the user may not submerge. Currently this program is used to promote interest
in snorkeling/scuba activities and requires no special training for instruction.
There is no certification issued for the SASY program. The SASY program can
be used in both pool and ocean environments.

1. Do you currently offer the SASY program in your facility?

2. If not why not?

3. Would you be interested in a more formalized recognition card for SASY?

4. Do you feel that SASY needs additional support from SDI HQ?

5. If so, in what manner?
