i have a close relationship with about 4 dive stores. that way, i am not limiting myself to one store and its products. all stores have their strengths and weaknesses.
for example, ScubaPro makes the best regulators and fins, in my opinion, but their tanks suck. Pressed Steel marketed by US Diver makes the best high pressure tanks, but not all stores carry them. Zeagle makes the best B/Cs [Ranger etc] but i personally dont trust their regulators yet.
by way of confession, i just spent $2000 on a Zeagle trilaminate front-entry black dry suit with woolies. ordered it because my 4 dives stores dont carry it on the shelf. they are all a part of the DUI drysuit craze.
i also disagree with the home computer part. too geek-ish. leave the home computer at home and stay away from it. but if you are a dyed in the wool geek, then, well, maybe. dont let your girlfriend catch you however, unless she is a geek too.
