Did you notice that DAN is now getting on the defibrillator bandwagon? I wondered when they woudl get on board. The odds of a victim surviving with CPR are dismal (<5% in most studies I have read). The number jumps dramatically with a defib machine. The machines are self explanitory and self operating. All you need to do is place the sticky patches on the victim as directed by voice prompts and pictograms. My daughter who works as a lifeguard is trained on them and I was very impressed.

I hope they start showing up on the boats as part of the kit with oxygen.
