The M-value of a given tissue group will not get extended with either a computer or a table.. That will remain constant.

What does change is how much time a given device provides to get to that M-value.. And that is why you see me arguing so passionately about blind reliance on a device..

I hear all the time that *my computer gives me more bottom time* and immediatley I know that diver doesn't knwo what the hell he/she is talking about.. The computer does no such thing.. It's a different means to the same end...

All it does is monitor your dive profile while you are in the water and up date your profile..

In other words it doesn't *give* you more than 30 minutes at 90', it just tells you that maybe you were 10 minutes at 70' and then 5 minutes at 60' and so forth which thereby allows for increased bottom times when compared strictly to the NAVY tables...

Hope that clears it up..

Later
