Here's a hint. Go out and get a sense of humor. A few of the DIR gurus love to point out the potentially deadly gear that non-DIR divers use. One of the other divers on the Lois Ann asked me about my seven foot primary and necklaced backup. I explained it to him without preaching or calling him a moron for not diving that way. He thanked me and said it sounds like a good idea. He saw my SPG without console and my iso manifold, yet I saw him u/w and he seemed to enjoy the Yukon as much as anyone else on board. I may dive with a lot of DIR gear, but I don't believe in deriding anyone else for their dive gear. If you truly believe that DIR advocates never say that "stroke" gear is deadly, you haven't been reading this or other dive bbs very long.
