and i don't play one on t.v., but if you're
asking about the rig, then:

re:the front dump valve, even when i was diving
my jacket style b.c., i never used it. i always
used the deflator instead. what i noticed when
switching to 'halcyon' is b/c the inflator hose
on that b.c. is significantly shorter, it is
more difficult to just use the deflator to dump
air when in a horizontal position (i have
to 'right' myself vertically to effectively use
the deflator). i've since decided to use the
rear dump valve for that purpose now.

as for dumping air on ascent, i've always used
the deflator, never the front or rear dump valves.

the biggest thing that was uncomfortable for me
was the shape/size of the inflator mechanism on
the 'halcyon' rig. i switched it out for one
that i've always used and now my left hand is
happy.

re:sitting low in water at the surface...that's
different from my own experience...i've found that i sit quite well out of the water in the
36# wing setup, very comfortable.

anyway, best wishes.

kelphead.
