I too learned the incorrect method of using my drysuit to control my buoyancy. It took me no time to become comfortable and competent in using my BCD as it was meant to be used, and the drysuit as a drysuit. Just like paying attention you your SPG and bottom timer, it's no problem to operate both systems. It's hard to imagine size of the drysuit inflation system we would have to carry if the suit was the primary buoyancy device.

I can't begin to imagine returning to my old habits. I was really tired of trying to swim with the Pillsbury Dough Boy as part of my gear.
