Yes I was taught to dive like that. We try to meet at the shallowest point on the wreck to do one last equipment check and proceed to the deepest part of the wreck. Here's the funny part. Using navy air tables (we did this dive nitrox)I loaded a past dive into the computer and also did the "on the fly" computations to compare. They were off by less than a minute! Now if I would have known this earlier I could've saved myself $400 that could have paid for a trip to San Diego to do the Yukon! Now I as of yet have not tried this method on a real dive, but soon will. I might even post the results.
Be civilized now...tuna is better!
